Privacy Policy

At Covina, protecting your personal data is essential. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and what your rights are.

1. Who we are

Covina Corps (“Covina”, “we”) is a Congolese technology ecosystem dedicated to citizen safety, authority coordination and local commerce development. This policy applies to all of our digital services: citizen app, Authority portal, Coop platform and Parrain Market.

2. Data we collect

We only collect data necessary for our services to work: • Account information: name, phone number, email address and user profile; • Location data: GPS position when you trigger an SOS alert or report an incident; • Multimedia evidence: photos, videos and audio recordings linked to a report; • Device data: unique identifier, model and operating system, for security and diagnostic purposes; • Usage data: interactions with the app, civic wallet and transaction history on Parrain Market.

3. Purposes of collection

Your data is used to: • Process and forward your alerts to the competent authorities in real time; • Secure the evidence collected and transmit it safely; • Provide you with Covina services (wallet, marketplace, local notifications); • Improve our services and prevent fraud; • Communicate with you about updates, partner offers and safety information.

4. Data sharing

Covina never sells your personal data. We only share it with: • Accredited authorities (police, firefighters, health services, certified NGOs) when an alert or report is made; • Our technical partners and service providers strictly necessary for hosting, payment or delivery; • Judicial authorities, when required by law or to ensure people's safety.

5. Security and retention

We implement robust technical and organizational measures: end-to-end encryption of evidence, secure authentication, access controls and regular audits. Report data is kept for the period necessary for the investigation and legal obligations, then anonymized or deleted. Account data is kept as long as your account is active.

6. Your rights

In accordance with applicable legislation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and international standards, you have the following rights: • Right to access, rectify and delete your data; • Right to restrict and object to processing; • Right to data portability; • Right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us through the channels listed below.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and applications may use cookies and equivalent technologies to improve your experience, measure audience and secure your sessions. You can change your preferences at any time from the app or browser settings.

8. Data of minors

Covina is designed to protect all citizens. If you are under 16, we recommend using the app under the supervision of a legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.
